Christchurch Lights & Switch On
A free event, organised by Christchurch Town Council, for the turning on of the town's Christmas lights.
"Following the success of previous years, the lights will be featuring dazzling displays from the iconic deer on the roundabout to the magical Convent and Riverside Walk, with further illuminations on the quay, the Old Town Hall, Bargates, and throughout the High Street.
This year’s Switch-On celebration promises a fun-filled day for all ages, running from 11am to 7pm, with the official light switch-on led by the Mayor of Christchurch at 5pm. The event will feature an exciting programme of live music, including performances from local bands and headline acts, alongside BMX stunt displays, fairground rides, and roaming mascots to entertain the crowds.
Visitors can enjoy a vibrant festive market offering a variety of food, drinks, crafts, and gifts, with stalls located along the High Street, Saxon Square, and Druitt Hall. From street food to artisan treats, there’s something for everyone to enjoy as they soak up the festive atmosphere."
