Shakespeare Shout for St George’s Day

Join Christchurch Town Council at Christchurch Bandstand as they join towns across England to shout a famous line from Henry V together. Viv Charrett - Mayor and Christchurch Town Councillor will lead the reading (possibly joined by a special guest or two) and you’ll shout the final line!

This event is as a celebration of Saint George as an English cultural icon. Born in a foreign land, and welcomed by the English, Saint George has come to symbolise the very essence of ‘Englishness’. Celebrating George as their patron saint, Christchurch Scouting will have their parade through our historic town two days later.
