NEW DATE, SAME BIG SOUND!
After a short hiatus in the heat, Swing Unlimited’s Community Big Band will see Summer Sounds on the Bandstand off with a 2026 swansong finale on 2 September. Expect big, bold, feel‑good live music and a fantastic atmosphere down by the water: the perfect way to spend a September evening in Christchurch!
Bring your dancing shoes, your kids, your dog (on a lead), your picnic and a chair (we'll also have hay bales out). We'll see you there!
Swing Unlimited’s Community Big Band (SU2) is a vibrant, welcoming big band that brings together musicians of all ages and abilities from across the region. As the community arm of the Swing Unlimited Big Band Group, SU2 provides a supportive space for players to grow their skills, gain confidence, and experience the joy of performing big‑band music.
Summer Sounds on the Bandstand is a free live music event, brought to the community by Christchurch Town Council
