Repair Café

Bring your broken item to them, and they will endeavour to repair it. Free entry and refreshments are available.

While they offer this service free of charge, donations are always welcome.

The Repair Café sessions are:

• For most things, at The Saxon Bar between 10 am and midday.
• For cycles, refer to the Pop-up Cycle repair and Sustainability Hub event.

They have a good number of volunteer ‘fixers’ but, with everyone being a volunteer, they can’t guarantee that a particular skill-set will be present on the day.

They have available skills in electrical / electronic, wood / glues, bicycles, and clothing. Repairs so far (mostly successful but can’t guarantee it) include vacuum cleaners, a musical box, hydraulic bike brakes, table lamps, toasters, laptop lid, Xmas tree lights, air fryer, musical teddy bear, food blender and a radio.

For things like a lawn mower or vacuum cleaner, it’s worth emailing ahead with details of the fault, make and model (see organiser link for email). They may be able to reply with useful information or even save you a trip in with the item!
