New Strategy for Christchurch Bay & Harbour
The Christchurch Bay & Harbour Strategy Project Team have passed the following information onto the CRA:
Hello
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council and New Forest District Council have formally adopted a new joint strategy which outlines how coastal flood and erosion risk will be managed over the next 100 years, from Hengistbury Head Long Groyne to Hurst Spit, encompassing Christchurch Harbour.
The Christchurch Bay and Harbour Flood & Coastal Erosion Risk Management Strategy was produced in partnership with the Environment Agency and technical consultants AECOM. It highlights that ageing existing coastal defences and the changing climate (including rising sea levels) put over 3,500 properties at risk from coastal flooding and or being lost to coastal erosion.
If you would like to know more, a summary document has been made available on our website along with all the technical documents.
We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all our stakeholders for supporting the development and adoption of this cohesive strategy.
Kind regards & best wishes for the festive season,
Christchurch Bay & Harbour Strategy Project Team
