[EXPIRED] Local Plan for BCP (Stage 1: Scoping)
Below is an an extract from the BCP Local Plan consultations website.
We are creating a new Local Plan for the BCP area. It will guide where new homes, jobs, community facilities and infrastructure will go over the 15 year period from 2028 to 2043. Once complete, the Local Plan will be used to help make planning decisions.
The Local Plan will include three stages of consultation which you can get involved in:
- Now – Scoping stage (June 2026)
Help shape the vision by telling us what issues matter most, anything else the plan should include and how best to engage with people going forward.
- Plan content and evidence stage (October 2026)
Comment on the evidence, proposed development strategy, site allocations and policy approaches.
- Draft Plan consultation (September 2027)
Comment on the final draft with the detailed policies and site allocations.
Stage 1 Details
The first stage is now open: Local Plan Scoping Consultation.
As part of this first stage there is a call for sites:
'Call for Sites' is an early stage in the Local Plan process where local planning authorities invite landowners, developers, and the public to suggest potential development sites for future use. These sites are then assessed to inform the Local Plan, which guides development decisions in the area. The call for sites helps identify land for various purposes, including housing, employment, and infrastructure.
Both parts of stage 1 end on Monday 27 July 2026.
