[EXPIRED] Purewell BSIP Stage 2: Statutory Consultation

BCP Council have opened the Stage 2 Statutory Consultation for the Purewell Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) - this includes a brief frequently asked questions (FAQs).

I am writing to provide further information following the Stage 1 Public Consultation on the Bus Service Improvement Scheme for Purewell, which ran from 2 March 2026 until 29 March 2026. I want to take the opportunity to thank you all for your time and contributions in development of the plans and for encouraging residents and businesses to review and contribute to the consultation.

The Stage 1 consultation was reviewed 868 times and 76 responses to the consultation were provided. The council also received eight written responses through hard copies of the survey as well as four emails from residents on the subject. Of the responses received, 48% were in support of the proposals, 44% opposed the proposals and 8% did not outline any preference.

The results of the Stage 1 Consultation have been presented to the Director for Planning & Transport, alongside the Cabinet Member for Climate Response, Environment & Energy and Cabinet Member for Destination, Leisure & Commercial Operations. In full consideration of the consultation outputs a decision has been made to proceed to Stage 2 Consultation on the proposed plans with the following adjustments:

All parking sections reviewed during the Stage 1 consultation will be included in the Stage 2 consultation with no amendments to the initial proposals. Permitted daytime parking in all marked parking sections along the scheme, currently limited to ‘30 minutes with no return within 30 minutes’, to be amended to permit parking to limited to ’30 minutes with no return within 1 hour’.

The Stage 2 consultation is the statutory Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) process that must be followed before any signs and lines are changed on the ground. This consultation shall commence on Friday 28th August 2026 and will run for three weeks as per the statutory process.
